The Parkside Players

About the Parkside Players

Thanks to Ms. Joellen Livingston Parkside has had a tradition of teaching Parkside students to perform quality musicals.  At first people thought, “Could middle schoolers really have that much talent and discipline to do a musical?” Year after year, Ms. Livingston proved it was possible and that we have some pretty talented students. Providing a fun after school club with music, dance and laughter, she gave our children over 20 years of learning self-confidence and building friendships.

We are excited for another great year with our Drama club this year hosted by Ms. Loralee Petty and our new drama teacher at Parkside, Ms. Kalen Peterson.  Students can attend one of two interest meetings to hear more about our musical this year, “A Broadway Revue” on Oct. 24 3:10-4:30 or Oct. 25th 3:10-4:30.  Sign up for an audition slot at the Library for Oct. 28th, Nov. 1st, Nov. 7th or Nov. 8th.  Call backs will be the following week on Nov. 14th and 15th.  The Parent Info meeting will be Nov. 21st at 5:30.

Please note - practices will be mostly Mondays, Thursdays and Fridays.  There is an activity bus on Thursdays but Mondays and Fridays parents will need to pick up their students or car pool for an end time of 5:30 typically.  If your child has other sports or activities, please note on the sign up sheet that goes out and we will try to accommodate.

Parent help will be needed with behind the scenes organization, making/sewing costumes, web design, helping with performance concessions, programs, ushering, set up and take down, etc.  Please keep an eye out for the volunteer opportunities and sign up.

Come be a star!
